Greenhouse Gas (GHG)

Our earth’s atmosphere acts like a glasshouse/greenhouse. The infrared radiation (heat) from sun and earth’s surface gets trapped in the atmosphere and warms it up due to the presence of heat trapping gases in it called greenhouse gases (GHGs). Higher the concentration of GHGs, warmer will be the atmosphere. …    Read more

All About Envirolead Canada

Our Projects.

Biophysical Assessment and Wetlands Assessment,
Cochrane North, Rocky view  County, Alberta  (2016)

Envirolead conducted Biophysical Assessment in preparation for a residential subdivision in the Rocky view County, Alberta, Canada. This include characterization of biophysical features (natural regions, wetlands classification, vegetation, and wildlife) within the Site; landscape characteristics, surface drainage patterns, physiography (in context of natural regions and sub-regions of Alberta), landforms and topography, surficial geology, hydrology; and determine the ecological value ecological features within the study area.

Determined areas suitable for conservation easements and identified lands suitable for designation as potential municipal and/or environmental reserve, and applicable setbacks pursuant with the Municipal Government Act (MGA); and provided recommendations for any conservation and enhancement measures at the Site and setbacks required.

Third Party Sampling Analysis, Kurdistan (2016)

Recognized to supervise the remediation program include characterization for determining the contaminative status of areas where potential contamination from past activities, and to conduct sampling program.

Remediation Project Kurdistan (2015)

Supervision and certification during and after performing remediation of contaminated sites that include waste pits, cutting pits, water pits, and flare pits used during drilling operations. Provided periodical supervision, soil sampling and issuing Compliance Certificate for individual well sites.

Biophysical Assessment and Wetlands Assessment, Parkland County, Alberta  (2014)

Envirolead conducted Biophysical Assessment in preparation for a residential subdivision in the Parkland County, Alberta, Canada.

Environmental Monitoring Liquid Natural Gas Plant (LNG) for Early Works, BC (2013 to 2014)

Envirolead performed major parts of the environmental monitoring program of Kitimat LNG project in Canada. Kitimat LNG project is committed to high environmental standards in its all operations to minimize the impacts of the project on the environment. Focus was given to assess impacts on all fronts include air and water quality of the freshwater streams include; turbidity, TSS, and pH from the early works and construction activities. Baseline studies include wildlife monitoring, avi-fauna, fauna and flora both in marine and terrestrial environments. Measures have been taken to minimize environmental impacts include:

  • Small facility footprint to minimize land use

  • Use of hydroelectric power to reduce overall emissions

  • No harbour dredging to minimize impact on marine environment

  • Sediment control and monitoring for maintaining water quality of the streams

  • Biodiversity monitoring program for assessing impacts

Remediation of developmental land, Airdrie,  Alberta (2012-2013)

The Soil Management Plan was developed to address the deposit of naturally occurring elevated soil metals, particularly arsenic, was found to be present in a band at depths of 2.5 meters from current grade within the Residential Development Phase.  This assessment included the excavation of test pits and analysis of soil samples was conducted within the arsenic zone of the property.  All of the analytical results for the test pit soil samples from within this area were within the detection limit of the 30 mg/kg Arsenic guideline set for this area by Alberta Environment and Alberta Health Services.  None of the test pit soil samples in the remainder of the development area exceeded the Tier 1 residential guideline for arsenic of 17 mg/kg.

A soil management plan for the county was developed to remediate the arsenic band. A full time onsite inspection was recommended to document and proceed with the construction and to ensure all procedures as specified by the soil management plan are being followed by the contractor.

Environmental Assessment (Phase II) Residential Development, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan (2012)

Investigated the extent of hydrocarbon contamination from the neighbouring activities of fuelling station. Investigation included assessment of onsite migration of contaminants from the neighbouring property, and confirmation of the contamination with limited soil sampling. Provided the evidence of contamination from the activities adjacent to the property.

Environmental Monitoring of South Sheppard Landfill, Calgary, Alberta (2011-2012)

Designed and conducted a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment to investigate the nature and extent of contamination at a site used historically for burial of wastes. Investigation included assessment of onsite migration of contaminants from an adjacent property, also used for waste burial. Ground water monitoring, methane was conducted for a period of one year.
